Structure of an Essay Written

An essay is, generally an essay that is written to give the writer’s argument, but often the meaning is unclear and can be confused with an writing paper essay, a report, a novel, a newspaper, and even a short story. Essays have historically been divided into formal and informal. Formal essays contain a thesis or main argument, such as in an essay. Non-formal essays tend to be more informal and contain personal statements and descriptions as the main arguments. Formal essays contain a clearly defined thesis, which is typically written after the essay is written. Non-formal essays are less formal in terms of the opinion expressed.

Literary journalism utilizes literary devices extensively. This is the case with the use of and the incorporation of quotes and other literary devices. The essay format and style will depend on the topic and the argument being presented. The information that needs to be included in the essay topic has to be carefully documented, organized, checked and referenced in a correct manner and only then will the essay be deemed an authentic one.

There are five types of essays that include analytical, topical, argumentative and descriptive. The topical essay is a broad term that describes any essay that discusses a current event or a political issue. The type of essay uses general statements to discuss the topic in a broader points structure. They can be utilized to debate topics like reviews, polls and surveys. This is why each requires careful observation and interpretation as well as the use of specific information and assertions to justify a particular perspective.

The thesis statement is a summary of the major points of the essay. The thesis statement should be composed at the end of the essay to justify the main points covered in the essay. The thesis statement will not appear in an essay more than three times.

The paragraphs of an essay examine various facts and assertions and answer the question asked in the introduction of the essay. The paragraphs of the essay generally adhere to the standard format of an argument. Each paragraph will try to support either its own opinion or the view of the writer. The final paragraphs will acknowledge and conclude the opinions that were expressed throughout the essay.

Argumentative essay structures are created to persuade the reader to accept a particular view or conviction. Unlike the topical or descriptive style, this form of essay will not use the thesis statement. Rather, the arguments will be laid out throughout the entire essay. Essays that fall into this category aren’t as descriptive as they can be more convincing.

A narrative essay is the third kind of essay structure. It is similar to a persuasive essay but is more focused on information rather than opinion. The information used in these kinds of essays will be related to the major points of the essay topic. A narrative essay should not be concerned with speculation or opinion.

The fourth type of structure is the discussion essay. This format is different from narrative in the sense that it will go beyond the typical topic sentence and will provide an in-depth analysis of the issue or topic. The format of discussion will have a thesis statement at every paragraph. This format is similar to the argumentative format. The conclusion paragraphs will address the thesis in a manner which leaves the reader with a strong opinion. The conclusion paragraph isn’t as important than the other paragraphs and readers can decide for themselves.
